Website Accessibility Statement

This statement applies to the official website of Teatru Manoel at www.teatrumanoel.mt and was last updated in 1st June 2022.

Compliance status

Teatru Manoel is committed to making its online services accessible to everyone.  We strive to improve the accessibility of our online services for all our users irrespective of their global location, paying special attention to the anti-discrimination requirements of the Equal Opportunities Act (Persons with Disability) of 2000 (EOA).

Compliance process

The Teatru Manoel website is designed to function when accessed using the most recent versions of popular internet browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox.

Teatru Manoel adheres to the accessibility standard EN301549 and WCAG2.1 guidelines. Our online resources and products are evaluated both manually and programmatically for conformance to WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. The Teatru Manoel website is designed to function when accessed through suitably updated hardware and software products.

We fully recognise and accept that simply adhering to standards and guidelines does not necessarily make a product accessible. Therefore, Teatru Manoel also carries out feedback research and usability evaluations in collaboration with persons with disability.

We also strive to implement accessibility for information channels that are provided via third party platforms wherever possible.

Accessibility measures

The Teatru Manoel website does not make use of font magnification and colour modification widgets, as these are already available as add-ons or features on most web browsers. Users are free to customise their browsing experience to suit their needs.

The Teatru Manoel website also implements the following accessibility features:

  1. Maintains a consistent HTML Heading hierarchy and information layout across different web pages.
  2. Ensures that information content is organised into HTML lists wherever applicable.
  3. Deploys a link focus highlighting script to provide visual cues for exclusive keyboard users.
  4. Includes image title, alt tag and captions wherever this information is relevant and useful.
  5. Maximises colour contrast for text where applicable.
  6. Seeks to ensure that the actual link text is descriptive enough to inform to user of where the link will take them.
  7. Implements all external links so that they open into new browser tabs.

Non-accessible content

Teatru Manoel is not aware of any specific inaccessible content or accessibility issues on this website.  Any accessibility issues can be reported via the contact details as provided further below.

Feedback and Contact Details

It is an unfortunate truth that, in spite of our best efforts, some accessibility issues may still arise. Teatru Manoel is committed to addressing and resolving any such issues promptly and to the best of our capacity.

Website user feedback is vital in this regard. If you are experiencing any issues accessing any feature of our website, we would appreciate it if you could let us know by contacting (insert email address here).
