The De Valette Chamber Orchestra closes its 2026/27 season with Night of Stars – a programme devoted to brilliance, virtuosity, and the exceptional artists shaped by the world’s most prestigious international music competitions. Rolla’s Divertimento for Viola and Strings opens the programme with elegance and sparkling Italianate charm, before Bruch’s Double Concerto for Violin, Viola and Orchestra places two outstanding solo voices in dialogue. The viola part is performed by one of today’s leading violists, Timothy Ridout, Artist-in-Residence of the De Valette Chamber Orchestra and First Prize winner of the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition. At his side is Carmine Lauri, Music Director and Concertmaster of the DVCO and Principal Emeritus of the London Symphony Orchestra. As a Partner of the Official Laureate’s Tour of the 17th International Henryk Wieniawski Violin Competition, one of the world’s most prestigious competitions, the De Valette Chamber Orchestra brings the season to a glittering finale with its First Prize winner — a closing celebration of exceptional talent, virtuoso fire, and the next generation of classical stars.
