Teatru Manoel is seeking applications from suitable candidates for a dynamic and experienced Social Media & Content Creator to join the Marketing Department on a Contract for Service. The Social Media and Content Creator shall report to the Manager (PR and Communications) and must always ensure that any decisions affecting other departments or sections, whether directly or indirectly, are made only after a thorough process of dialogue to promote team spirit and coordination.

Amongst other duties the Social Media and Content Creator will be responsible to create high-quality in-house content, including graphics, videos and written materials, for publication and release, develop engaging social media content aligned with Teatru Manoel’s programme needs, ensuring audience relevance and brand consistency, as well as Eestablish and maintain a regular content calendar, including scheduling posts and overseeing social media advertising campaigns.

The Social Media and Content Creator will be supporting Teatru Manoel’s Manager (PR and Communications). The chosen candidate will be required to work during the evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Social Media & Content Creator Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating Teatru Manoel’s online public image in collaboration with the Marketing Department;
  • Managing and maintaining all social media channels, ensuring consistent updates and engagement;
  • Creating high-quality in-house content, including graphics, videos and written materials, for publication and release;
  • Developing engaging social media content aligned with Teatru Manoel’s programme needs, ensuring audience relevance and brand consistency;
  • Establishing and maintaining a regular content calendar, including scheduling posts and overseeing social media advertising campaigns;
  • Executing marketing campaign strategies in line with Teatru Manoel’s objectives and audience engagement goals;
  • Monitoring social media algorithms, trends and engagement metrics, and preparing monthly performance reports;
  • Tracking attendance figures and contributing to audience development initiatives;
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Department to build relationships with the private sector, securing sponsorships, partnerships and funding opportunities;
  • Assisting in managing and updating databases for audience profiling and segmentation;
    Conducting qualitative and quantitative market research to analyse audience preferences and improve content strategies;
  • Engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages and fostering an active online community;
  • Ensuring that all digital content aligns with accessibility standards and best practices;
  • Performing any other duties as may be reasonably required to support the smooth and efficient operation of Teatru Manoel, always considering the artistic and cultural mission of the organisation.

 

Supplementary responsibilities

  • Manage or discharge such other responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by the Board, Artistic Directors and Managers.

 

Self-improvement

  • Acts to be well informed and up-to-date Marketing and Communications related practices, policies and issues;
  • From time to time the Officer shall attend for training related to the position.

 

Other Duties

  • Must be an ambitious self-starter with high energy, motivation and great interest in the marketing and communications field;
  • Attending Teatru Manoel staff meetings and third-party meetings, when required;
  • Any other services as requested by the Manager (PR and Communications), and the CEO.

 

Required Knowledge

  • Demonstrates creativity and a strong track record of engaging social media content creation (provide links to relevant profiles or portfolios as examples);
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.), their user demographics, and how each platform can be leveraged for different objectives;
  • Exhibits strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively through written, visual, and video content;
  • Has a solid understanding of media production, video editing, design and photography, along with basic proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator;
  • Shows adaptability and confidence in learning and implementing new digital tools, systems and technologies as needed;
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the local media industry and its key players;
  • Maintains a strong commitment to customer service and quality management, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all communications;
  • Possesses a keen interest in the arts, culture and creative industries;
  • Displays a strong creative flair, with the ability to generate innovative ideas and compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.

 

Required Skills

  • Ability to effectively organise, plan and prioritise work schedules based on project requirements and deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, ensuring positive engagement with stakeholders and audiences;
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English;
  • Capacity to adapt, learn and refine external and internal communication skills as needed.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognised Bachelor’s qualification at MQF Level 6, (subject to a minimum of 180 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2003) in Marketing or Communications or the Creative Arts or a comparable professional qualification, plus three (3) years relevant work experience.

OR

  • A recognised qualification at MQF Level 5 (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits, or equivalent in Marketing or Communications or the Creative Arts or a comparable professional qualification, plus five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Maltese;
  • A clean police conduct;
  • A driving license.

 

Terms for Contract for Service

Payment: €2,189.08 per month excluding VAT

Contract term: A one (1) year ‘Contract for Service’ with the possibility to extend for a further one (1) year.

Working hours: On average 40 hours per week, flexible and according to Teatru Manoel’s needs. Working hours may include evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
