The performance blurs the boundaries between music, song, dance, and theatre. It speaks the universal language of the body’s rhythm and is expressed through voice and movement. This special Malta performance of Bodyterranean features two well-known local singers – Doreen Galea and Mariele Zammit, who join the troupe in telling their stories through voice. In Bodyterranean, Mediterranean musical tradition meets the present day; songs become motion and rhythm. Bodies and voices tell stories of love, exile, motherhood, diversity, of joys and sorrows—before which all people and all cultures stand equal. The songs in this performance—stripped down and unarmed, in their purest form—tell stories that erase differences and cry out for equality and peace.
