Teatru Manoel is producing “Għażiż Francis” (performances: 1^st & 2^nd November 2024) and is seeking experienced actors fluent in Maltese and English to fill the following roles:

Principal role: Narrator 1 (Pino)* (M, 25+)

Principal role: Narrator 2 (Peter) (M 25+)

11 multi-character roles (M&F 18-60)

*Applicants may wish to research the Late Maltese actor, Pino Scicluna

Għażiż Francis is not a biography about Francis Ebejer, but a series of memories and thoughts, narrated by two friends who give testimony to his works, his life and the context in which he was writing. It is based on their personal experiences with Ebejer and excerpts from his writings.

Any age and gender can audition. Age ranges refer to playing ages and are indicative only.

Bring your schedule for the months July-October (in case of travel dates, work obligations, etc.)

For all characters:

• Prepare a dramatic monologue (in verse) from any of Francis Ebejer’s stage plays, radio plays or other writings in Maltese and/or English. This monologue is to be performed from memory without a script.

Rehearsals and performances

Rehearsals to commence during July 2024, to continue in August and intensify in September and October 2024 and will mainly be held at Teatru Manoel

Production week starting Monday 28 October

Performances on 1^st and 2^nd November 2024

Performances will be repeated on occasion in other venues during 2025 as part of the events marking the centenary of the birth of Francis Ebejer.
