Experience the joy of five days of intense musical theatre training at the Teatru Manoel by leading director Caroline Clegg and vocal coach Kate Fenech Field. Learn repertoire by some of the greatest musical masters of our age Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sondheim, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Kander and Ebb, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and shows such as Cabaret, West Side Story, Anything Goes, Singing in the Rain, Rocky Horror and many more. The repertoire is endless but it will be tailor made to the participant’s voices and abilities. You will learn how to prepare and perform solo and ensemble songs and dances, develop creativity and discover your vocal potential. Whether you are a singer who dances or a dancer who sings or an actor who sings and dances, this is for you! Intermediate Level Some experience of live performance is recommended.

Caroline Clegg is a stage director and choreographer. She trained at the Italia Conti School in London and began her career as a dancer in West End musicals such as Singing in the Rain and 42nd Street alongside a successful acting career in repertory theatre and TV. Caroline is an international stage director and founder and artistic director of Feelgood Theatre Productions. She taught and directed at the Royal Northern College of Music for 18 years and was the inaugural director of Youth Perform (now Young Company) the Musical Theatre group for young people, creating award winning musicals for over ten years most recently winning the Manchester Theatre Award for Singing in the Rain. Caroline teaches at the Manchester School of Theatre (MMU) and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), were recent work includes The Threepenny Opera, the UK premiere of Dead Man Walking (Heggie) and Orfeo and Euridice for Scottish Opera Young Company.
Kate Fenech Field (PPRNCM, BMus RNCM) vocal coach, choral director and arranger. She was introduced to teaching by running an education project for Clonter Opera in Cheshire, introducing opera to hundreds of primary school children through county-wide music workshops. Having a career singing opera, classical and musical theatre repertoire, Kate was approached to present a singing workshop for one of the UK’s most successful part-time performing arts schools, the Jayne A Coleman Academy of Dance in Crowthorne. Kate currently spearheads theatre for young audiences, youth training, community singing and audience development projects at Teatru Manoel, running the Learning & Participation programme, TOI TOI.
