Description

an Acting & Writing Experience

18 – 22 September 2023

10:00 – 13:00 | LUNCH | 14:00 – 17:00

Immerse yourself in five days of exploring Shakespeare from both an actor’s and writer’s perspective. Spend the morning rehearsing and performing Shakespeare’s finest work using tools from the RSC rehearsal room and playing text detective by following the clues he planted in his text to direct his actors. Then each afternoon, explore your own writing skills in practical exercises inspired by his work. Led by Royal Shakespeare Company actress and professional writer, Lizzie Hopley, the week will culminate in a showcase of your work at Teatru Manoel.

All levels of experience and ability are welcome. This intriguing week will offer an active and inclusive introduction to Shakespeare or a way to polish your own performance and writing skills using tips from the great bard himself.

Intermediate Level
Some experience of live performance is recommended.
