AUDITION CALL – MEDEA
Teatru Manoel will be producing Euripides’ MEDEA in a version by Ben Power on 15, 16, 17 November 2024, directed by Bettina Paris, with Adrian Buckle as Production Manager.
In the first audition call, we will be auditioning the following roles (click on role to download the script):
JASON’S ATTENDANT MAN between 20s-30s
● Interested applicants should download the script linked to the relevant character/s they are auditioning for and film a self-tape of the text.
Please also include an introduction of not more than 30 seconds expressing why you’d be interested in forming part of this production.
Alongside your self-tape and intro (which should be submitted as one video), please send over your CV (max 2 pages in pdf).
● Send the self-tape and CV by email to info@teatrumanoel.mt by 13th November 2023. Enter ‘MEDEA AUDITIONS’ in the email subject field.
● Upon submission of the above, kindly also state if you are available for rehearsals during the day (anytime before 5pm). Please note that daytime availability is not a necessity, but it would be useful for us to know if you have such flexibility.
● Please let us know if you would be open to being considered for other roles besides the role you have taped for.
● If you get through to the second round, the next stage would be an in-person audition in December.
● Keep an eye out for further auditions for other roles early next year.
● Please ensure that you record your self-tape audition in front of a plain background, in landscape, as a mid-shot (chest upwards) with good lighting and sound.
If the text forwarded to you includes dialogue, please work with a reader. Tapes should be titled with your name and the role you are auditioning for.
